The Piyush Steel manufacturing process for precision Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe is usually regarded as the standard “marine grade stainless steel”, but it is not resistant to warm sea water. In many marine environments Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe does exhibit surface corrosion, usually visible as brown staining. This is particularly associated with crevices and rough surface finish. Finished Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe the high frequency electric-resistance welding process assures a stronger weld than conventional TIG and laser welds. No filler metal is added to the weld and due to metallurgical changes occurring during the process, the welded joint is actually stronger than the parent material. Then buffed and polished to spec, providing a gleaming finish suitable for the most critical application, good oxidation resistance in intermittent service to 870°C and in continuous service to 925°C. Continuous use of Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe in the 425-860°C range is not recommended if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is important. Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe is more resistant to carbide precipitation and can be used in the above temperature range. Stainless Steel 316L Sch 40 Pipe has higher strength at elevated temperatures and is sometimes used for structural and pressure-containing applications at temperatures above about 500°C. Our ability to deliver tubing that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also high strength and to tight tolerances makes us an ideal manufacturing; we source these high quality products from certified vendors and offer them at affordable prices.
