CARDANOL (CASHEW PHENOL)

Introduction:

Cardanol is a natural compound from the group of Phenols. Produced with Anacardic Acid, the main component of CNSL (Cashew Nut Shell Liquid), a           by-product of processing cashew nut shells, which is environmentally friendly substitute Phenols.

Features : Cardanol helps to increase flexibility, good drying after heating, good electrical insulation properties and thermal stability. These properties make it an effective substitute for Cardanol phenol obtained on the basis of petroleum compounds.

Application : Cardanol is used in chemical oil-soluble resins, and alcohol, laminating resins, is a component for the manufacture of rubber and protective coating serves as an excellent raw material for the preparation of high-quality insulating varnishes, paints and enamels. It is used for the production of friction materials and surfactants as a pigment dispersing agent for water-based paints, and for the production of Phenyl Alkylamines, which are used as curing agents for epoxy coating equipment used on concrete floors. Cardanol can replace 30% of the phenol in phenol resins, which are used for the manufacture of plywood and laminates.
